Soarin' Eagles Jog-a-thon Kick Off

The Soarin' Eagle Jog-a-thon is the PTO's only fundraiser for the year. Students will collect pledges from 1/30-2/22. On Friday, February 23rd students will run/walk for 30 minutes during school.  Register today to help raise money for the PTO: https://pledgestar.com/indialantic.

Please join us to Kick Off the 2024 Jog-a-thon Fundraiser on January 30th at 4:00 p.m. The event ends at 6: 00 p.m. due to sunset. It will be an opportunity for everyone from the community to see many of the funded projects that the PTO has accomplished to benefit the school and students: numerous murals, adding over 30 trees to the grounds, installation of a music playground, kindergarten garden landscaping, funding multiple reading programs and much more.

The Safety Patrol will be available for tours of the school for incoming students and the Indialantic City police and fire departments will be there with their vehicles for the students to see.  There will be free ice cream for kids, a chorus performance (4:10—grade 1, 4:30—grade 2, 5:00—grade 3, 5:30—Chorus), chess and Rubik club presentations, History Fair students showing their presentations and various faculty presenting other projects or items that PTO has funded.  Mrs. Reynolds will have a mosaic project that attendees will be able to participate in. There will also be a scavenger hunt and a Long Doggers coupon with participation.

If you would like to help , please email indialanticespto@gmail.com

If you know any local businesses that would like to donate monetarily, would like to donate a basket to be given out at the Kick Off Night or would like to make coupons/vouchers to be in the Jog-a-thon bag to every student at the school, please see the attached letter and contact indialanticespto@gmail.com.   We would love to connect with local businesses.

The Indialantic Long Doggers is doing a dine to donate event monthly with Indialantic Elementary! They will donate 20% of any order to Indialantic Elementary PTO on the first Saturday of each month. There are two spirit days left: Feb 3rd and March 2nd.

FAST Testing Info

At the FAST Testing Info Night we learned that The FAST Test is a computer adaptive test. The test has around 40 questions with multiple steps.  Students have unlimited time to complete the test. When kids get questions right, the test gets harder. It is normal for kids to miss many of the questions. Kids should not be discouraged when they get an answer wrong. They should just take their time and do their best. You can see some sample test questions and test format for your grade here: https://flfast.org/families.html.

The first tests of the year were for practice and progress monitoring (PM1 & PM2). The final tests of the year (PM3) will measure your student's preparedness for the next grade. Test scoring goes from 1-5. A score of 3 means working at grade level. Students are not expected to achieve a score of at least 3 until Progress Monitoring 3 (PM3).

The best preparation is daily instruction and attendance. On testing days, make sure your student gets a good night of sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, starts the day on a positive note, and arrives on time. Please do not schedule appointments on testing days:

K-2 Grade: 4/16 & 4/17

3-6 Grade: 4/3, 5/1 & 5/2

Students with accommodations may be tested on an alternate date due to scheduling.

Sign Up for Parent Lunch & Volunteer Opportunity

We are excited to be offering this two days a week for the remainder of the school year.  Parents may select a day, Tuesday or Friday, to come and have lunch with their child.  Be sure to arrive a few minutes prior to your child's lunch time.  Parents must have their ID (Driver's License or other approved forms of ID and will sign in through the office.  Students will need to return to class at the regularly scheduled time.  We request parents do not check out their child on Fridays at the end of the lunch period.  Due to limited space, it is important parents sign up if they would like to come and have lunch with their child.

Parental involvement is so important to the success of Indialantic Elementary!
