2024 Jog-a-thon Logo Contest

Planning for the Soarin' Eagle Jog-a-thon in February 2024 has begun to take place and we are looking for a 6th grader to help us with the logo for the event.   Any 6th grader interested, please submit your design to Mrs. Reynolds by Friday, December 1st.   The emphasis for this year's fundraiser will be landscaping the music playground area, therefore consider using musical influences in your design.   The sketches will be hung up on Wed, Dec 6th at the Literacy night and voting will take place.  The winning design will be used for stickers, advertisement and on the banner of the Jog-a-thon event.

Please do not put your name or initials on the sketch (we may add it later but for voting purposes would like to keep the design anonymous).   Any questions, please email indialanticespto@gmail.com.

Long Doggers Spirit Saturdays

The Indialantic Long Doggers is doing a dine to donate event this Saturday, December 2nd!  So far this school year they have donated $160. They will donate 20% of any order to Indialantic Elementary PTO on the first Saturday of each month through March.

There will be a competition to see which grade has the most participation -  so make sure to tell the server which grade(s) your family is representing! After the seven Saturday events, the numbers will be tallied and the grade with the most participation will win a surprise from PTO and Long Doggers!   As of November, Third grade is in the lead!

Just say you are from Indialantic Elementary and the grade of each student in your family all day (10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.) in person or the drive thru to raise money for our school!

Mrs. McCaughin is asking for donations of clear outdoor Christmas lights. If you have any white Christmas lights that the media center could keep or borrow till December 8th, it would be greatly appreciated.  She will also need help hanging these lights.  Please email her if interested at Mccaughin.Amanda@brevardschools.org to donate/let her borrow lights or volunteer to help hang the lights.

FAST Testing for K-2nd December 5th & 6th

The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) is a progress monitoring system that is administered three times per year to track your student’s progress in learning the Benchmarks of Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards throughout this school year. The purpose of this letter is to inform you that your student will participate in the second administration (PM2) of the Kindergarten through 2nd grade assessment on

December 5th & 6th, 2023 for Renaissance Star Early Literacy, Star Reading, and/or Star Math assessments. Your student’s results from PM2 are for informational purposes only,  and you will be provided with information about how to access the results after testing is completed.

FAST assessments are computer-adaptive tests taken on a computer or tablet. The questions get easier or more difficult depending on how the student responds, and each student will see different questions. If you or your student would like to review Star Early Literacy, Star Reading, and/or Star Math sample items at home, sample test items are available at https://flfast.org/resources/renaissance-star/renaissance-star.

The Star Early Literacy assessment typically takes less than 15 minutes to complete. The Star Reading assessment is usually completed in less than 20 minutes, and the Star Math assessment typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete.

If you have any questions related to this test administration, you may contact Stephanie White at 321-723-2311 or white.stephanie@brevardschools.org. For more information about the Florida Statewide Assessments program, please visit the portal at FLFAST.org.

Thank you for supporting your student and encouraging him or her to do his or her best during this test administration.

Sincerely,

Dr. Colleen Lord

Sign Up for Parent Lunch

We are excited to be offering this two days a week for the remainder of the school year.  Parents may select a day, Tuesday or Friday, to come and have lunch with their child.  Be sure to arrive a few minutes prior to your child's lunch time.  Parents must have their ID (Driver's License or other approved forms of ID and will sign in through the office.  Students will need to return to class at the regularly scheduled time.  We request parents do not check out their child on Fridays at the end of the lunch period.  Due to limited space, it is important parents sign up if they would like to come and have lunch with their child.

Parental involvement is so important to the success of Indialantic Elementary!
