Due to school closures on storm days, BPS has adjusted the academic calendar to ensure we receive the mandatory instructional minute:
Extended Days: The following Fridays will be full school days (not early release).
November 1
November 8
November 15
November 22
December 6
Makeup Days: We are operating full school days on the following dates:
Monday, February 17, 2025, will be a full school day. This was originally scheduled as a Student Holiday/Teacher Professional Development Day.
Friday, April 18, 2025, will be a full school day (Early Release). This date was originally scheduled as a Holiday for All.
The PTO's calendar has been updated to reflect these changes.
Mark your calendars, because families are invited to attend our next school-wide assembly for our annual Veterans Day program on November 8th at 8:30 a.m. Arrive early to allow time to check in through the front office. Register on the SignUpGenius to speed up check in time: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D45A9AA29A7FBC34-52714768-veterans
The program will feature local Scouts presenting a flag ceremony, music from Kindergarten and 1st graders as well as the Indialantic Eagles Chorus. There will be a special welcome table for Veterans following the program, brought to us by Indialantic Dad's Club and hosted by 5th graders. Seating will be available for all veteran guests; all others should plan to bring a lawn chair.
Indialantic Elementary School will create a “Wall of Service” that is on display through the month of November. Chevron-shaped papers will be available for your child to use to create a tribute to their family member who is a veteran or currently serving in the military. Students or parents may pick up a banner to decorate for their family member.
Completed banners may be turned into your child’s teacher or the front office. Please include the military member's name and their branch of service on the front of the banner, and be sure to include your child’s TEACHER and their first and last name in order to have the banner returned. Please do not use photos that are precious as the banners will be displayed in the hallway and the moisture cannot guarantee the return of your child’s banner.
Every student in our school is invited to attend the Indialantic Family Dance with an adult. It will be a very fun event for the kids from our school that includes a BBQ dinner, Line Dancing, a DJ, and photo booth. Cowboy boots optional! Please dress to impress and follow the school dress code.
Admission is $15 per person. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Space is limited. There are no physical tickets. You must add your name to the SignUpGenius to reserve your spot: https://tinyurl.com/ies-boots-bbq. No tickets will be sold the day of the event.
We will need volunteers and donations to help make this event amazing. Please email Heather at heatherthalwitzer@gmail.com if you would like to help.
If your family would benefit from financial assistance, please contact Lord.Colleen@brevardschools.org to have tickets purchased by the PTO on your behalf.

The Impact Aid survey is available in FOCUS. Your participation is crucial in helping us secure important funding for our school district. Access to your students’ information in FOCUS will not be available until the survey has been completed or opted out of. We encourage you to complete the survey as soon as possible to avoid any interruptions in accessing your student's information.
The Impact Aid program supports schools that serve children living on military bases, low-rent federal housing, Indian/Tribal lands, and other federal properties. It also includes families with parents in the uniformed services or employed on eligible federal properties. Completing the survey helps us identify families that qualify, which allows us to receive funding from the U.S. Department of Education under Title VII of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
Thank you for your attention to this important matter and for your continued support of our school community!
Thank you to all the families that ordered Original Works. The orders have been sent away and we are looking forward to the merchandise return before Thanksgiving. If anyone failed to place their order, please send in your artwork, order form and payment by November 1st. We will be sending one late order for your convenience.
Thank you for supporting the Arts!

The PTO was happy to help create this opportunity for hundreds of families from our community to get together. Thank you to everyone who made our first annual Trunk or Treat Event a tremendous success! It was wonderful to see everyone's creative decorations and costumes.

For the best experience: Communicate with the teacher that you're coming for lunch. Bring your ID. Be few minutes early your child’s scheduled lunch time to check in the front office. Be prepared to eat lunch at the outside picnic tables. Students will only be available for lunch during their regularly scheduled 30-minute lunch time. Students need to report back to the cafeteria before the end of their lunch period. You must always supervise your child during your time. Sign out in the front office.
Dr. Lord is asking for volunteers to help parents check in the front office to have lunch with their student: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D45A9AA29A7FBC34-47275073-front
To volunteer and attend most events at Indialantic Elementary, you must be an approved BPS volunteer.
