Welcome Back!

The faculty, staff, PTO and Dads Club have been working hard to have the campus ready for your students' return. Please welcome our new teammates: Vice Principal - Stephanie White, 1st grade- Kaitlin Smith, 1st grade- Janis Shepard, 3rd grade- Kara Ragobar, 3rd grade- Bina Busing, and 4th grade-Jamie Bangos.

Each student should get a Grade T-Shirt with this year’s theme to wear on Fridays and Special Events. If you didn’t buy or order one yet, please use the order form: https://forms.gle/zB1mYdgMWkzzyFfQ8.

The cost is $10 cash or check (payable to Indialantic PTO).  You can also use Paypal for $12 per shirt.   If you ordered a shirt on registration day, it should arrive in the next couple of weeks and will be given to the student in the classroom.  If money is owed for a shirt at registration, please send it in with the student and have them give it to their teacher. Mrs. McCaughin will be collecting payment, handling the distribution of shirts, and re-reordering.

Changes to Arrival and Dismissal

School supervision begins at 7:30 when campus gates open.  Between 7:30-7:45 students who are on campus can eat free breakfast in the Cafeteria (or just wait in the Cafeteria) or wait in the Media Center until 7:45. Students who arrive once the 7:45 bell rings have the option to go directly to their classroom or to the cafeteria for breakfast.

Car Loop: Make sure to request a car tag from your student's teacher. Car loop procedures can be found here https://tinyurl.com/mspzzzya

Please make sure to have your rainy day plan set with your student and their teacher.

At dismissal time (Monday-Thursday 2:25 and Fridays at 1:15), only walkers and bikers will be able to exit through the West Gate.  All car riders must be picked up in the car loop.  Our students' safety is a priority.

Please be extra vigilant when driving on Franklyn and Ramona to ensure that our students have the ability to cross safely.  Thank you for your cooperation as we adjust our procedures for this school year.

Annual Asbestos Notification

The EPA requires all accredited school districts to notify building occupants and their legal guardians annually describing asbestos removal from buildings.  No asbestos removal activities took place at Indialantic Elementary between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.

Guidelines for Visiting Campus

All volunteers must be fingerprinted and cleared through the district office prior to being allowed to volunteer for school activities. Register to volunteer by following the directions on this webpage: https://fl02201431.schoolwires.net/Page/11104.

Everyone must provide an ID when signing in for any school event. District guidelines remain the same as last year. Parents/visitors are not allowed on campus. This includes arrival, dismissal, and lunch.

Kindergarten Playground Update

The Kindergarten/ 1st grade playground will not be ready for the start of the school year. We are having new playground tiles installed underneath the equipment. The swing sets are also getting new chains due to the rusting conditions. It will be impressive once it is completed. The approximate completion date is by the end of August. The teachers have made arrangements for their students to play in other areas while the construction is taking place.

Reading is Sweet

In case you missed it, this was a story that featured Mrs. McCaughin and Mrs. Donovan for BPS Spotlight.

Join the PTO

Please join us to help plan events and fundraisers for our school at meetings on the second Thursday of the month, from August to May at 3pm in the Media Center.  Our next meeting is September 8th. Kids are welcome.   Bring your ID to check in at the front office, and you are welcome to join us. PTO has no membership or enrollment so all parents are welcome to support the activities and events that benefit the students and staff at Indialantic.   You do not need to be a registered volunteer to attend the meetings.  We welcome your ideas.

Dads Club Campus Clean Ups

Thanks to Dads Club for organizing and doing school clean ups!  Please join us the next two Saturdays from 9 to 11 as we continue to get our campus ready for the year. If you're interested in joining Dads Club, email iedadsclub@gmail.com.

Treasurer's Report

In August, PTO funds were used for the teacher luncheon at Texas Roadhouse, teacher breakfast at back to school, and Boo Hoo breakfast for Kindergarten.
