Run Club

Run club is open to all students and will meet every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday except when it is too cold or raining.  When the campus gate opens at 7:30 a.m., head to the back field to run some laps at a moderate pace for 15 minutes before school.  You must bring a water bottle to participate.

Returning Run Club members will have their cards printed out on carts when you arrive.  New members will have to set up a card to scan as they track their laps. The first few meetings are going to be a little chaotic because kids will need some individualized help to get started. New and shy kids might want to wait a couple of weeks until things are running smoothly.

Run Club does not fill up, so come when you can. Mr. Armstrong will keep track of your miles and tell you how many you did at the end of the school year.

Run Club could use several registered volunteers everyday from 7:20 a.m. -8:00 a.m. each day. If you are an approved volunteer, contact Kim Self at kimberlypas@yahoo.com with questions about volunteering for run club.

Come to the PTO Meeting Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

Please join us to help plan events and fundraisers for our school at meetings on the second Thursday of the month, from August to May at 3:00 p.m. in the Media Center.  Please review the minutes from the August meeting.

Kids are welcome. Bring your ID to check in at the front office, and you are welcome to join us. PTO has no membership or enrollment so all parents are welcome to support the activities and events that benefit the students and staff at Indialantic. You do not need to be a registered volunteer to attend the meetings. We welcome your ideas.

Some of our interesting projects for this year include planning school murals and the fun run.

Kindergarten/First Grade Playground Update

Last Friday Dr. Braga sent out a last minute plea for volunteers to come to the school for a couple of hours to help PTO/Dad's Club make it possible for the kindergarten/1st grade playground to open. The playground was closed in preparation of the school district installing rubberized tiles to the area, but the process was taking longer than expected. The playground needed to be weeded, mulch redistributed etc.

We had great success thanks to all the volunteers who helped out last minute and in the heat! The Playground opened Monday thanks to all the volunteers. We  greatly appreciate all of your time and effort. Just imagine all those kindergarten and 1st grade smiles! Extra thanks to the King family for the playground mulch contribution.

If you are interested in having a hand in planning, please reach out to the PTO at  indialanticespto@gmail.com with the Subject: IES Beautification. If you are an artist or know someone locally that is, and are interested in being considered to lend your or their talents to the mural(s), please contact us as well.   We have had a few artists interested already.
