School Beautification Over the Break

Our school beautification volunteers didn't take a break over Thankgiving.

Marianne Goettig began working on a "Treasure Mural" at the end of the sensory path.  Big shout out to her.

Book Fair Info

Next week is our school’s much anticipated book fair! 12/5-12/9 7:30am-2:00pm (students only)

This Friday, 12/2, classes will visit the book fair to preview and make a wish list if they choose.  Teachers will also have wish lists for their classroom libraries if families would like to purchase a book for their student’s class.

Would you like to volunteer? Here is the sign up link: Volunteer Sign Up

Please join us for Book Fair Family Night on 12/7 from 4-7pm.  With each book fair purchase, your family will receive 2 coupons to Long Doggers! There will also be a shaved ice truck outside during the family night. $3 for small and $5 for regular.  If DaChief makes more than $250, he will donate 10% to our school!

*Here is the link to our online book fair and/or to purchase gift cards until 12/9. Online Book Fair and Gift Cards

**We HIGHLY suggest that families purchase gift cards for their students to shop with. **

Please also share this link with out-of-town friends and family members to support our school library.  Gift cards for students or teachers can be purchased on this site as well. Books make AWESOME holiday gifts!! Orders purchased online will be added to our school’s book fair earnings and ship at the end of book fair week. Please allow approximately 10 business days for orders to arrive at school.

Another great holiday gift is a subscription to the Literati Kids Book Club.

This is the same idea as a clothing subscription box each month, like StitchFix, where the contents are specifically curated for you (or your child). One great benefit to these subscriptions, they give 10% of every dollar spent back to our school.

Meet the Indialantic Eagle

Our mascot, the nameless Indialantic Eagle was spotted walking around campus today.   He will be at the Book Fair on Wednesday evening to say hello.

Every class in the school will come up with a name for the Eagle. The class that receives the highest donations from Jog-a-thon will get to officially name the Eagle.

The kick off for Jog-a-thon will be Thursday, January 19th at an event after school hours where we will reveal the new Murals.

Giving Tree

The Giving Tree is up in the office at School. If you can help by purchasing gifts for some of our community’s children, please stop in a pick one of the anonymous gift tags off the tree and be sure and write it down in Marie Greco’s list. Unwrapped gifts need to be returned by the 16th of December, at the latest. Thank you for helping!

Field Day!

We are beginning preparations for FIELD DAY!  The plan is to feature 10-12 ten minute stations.  Each station is designed to be high, medium, or low/recovery intensity- all hope to be maximum fun.  Teachers rotate with their students from station to station.  Stations themselves are led by family volunteers who give game play instructions, safety expectations, and then facilitate some fun.  Physical activity is a major component to a fit lifestyle, we want our kids to know a workout doesn’t have to be work, it can be a playout too!

If you would like to volunteer to run a station please email armstrong.kerry@brevardschools.org  Teachers will stay with their classes during the event.  Each station has a fun, easy to follow lesson, and most are familiar to the students.  Volunteers will stay at a station to run it.  Every 10 minutes a new group of kids will rotate through.  Please arrive 20-30 minutes before your group’s time.  VOLUNTEERS MUST BE FINGER PRINTED-DISTRICT APPROVED.
