Teacher Appreciation Week
Please join us to celebrate teacher appreciation week at Indialantic Elementary:
Monday, May 1st - PJ day (Teachers provided our students with so much comfort)/ Breakfast provided by PTO
Tuesday, May 2nd - Wear Teacher's Favorite Color (see your teacher's wishlist) or Dress like your teacher day (Teachers Brighten our day)/ Starbucks provided by PTO and Domino's Provided by Admin
Wednesday, May 3rd - Hat Day (Hats Off to how Amazing our Teachers Are)/ Lunch provided by PTO
Thursday, May 4th - Wear Favorite Team or Team Colors of their Teacher (Teachers Cheer Us On)/ Breakfast provided by Admin
Friday, May 5th - Card Day (Special Thanks to our Teachers)/ Lunch provided by Admin

FAST Testing
This will be students' third test of the year and will show how well your student has mastered the grade level content standards, and you will be provided with information about how to access the results after testing is completed.
On May 2nd and 3rd Grades 3-6 will take FAST (Florida Assessment of Student Thinking) computer-adaptive tests a computer or tablet. If you or your student would like to interact with the online testing platform or review FAST Reading and Mathematics sample items at home, sample test materials are available at https://flfast.org/families.html.
On May 9th and 10th Kindergarten-2 Grades will take the Renaissance Star Reading, and Star Math assessments. Each test is less than 30 minutes. Sample test items at home at https://flfast.org/resources/renaissance-star/renaissance-star.
If your student leaves campus before completing a test (e.g., for lunch, an appointment), he or she will not be allowed to return to that test. If your student does not feel well on the day of testing, it may be best for him or her to wait and be tested on a make-up day. Please remember not to schedule appointments on testing days.
Students with accommodations may be tested on an alternate date due to scheduling. The testing window is open until 5/23
Make sure your student eats a good breakfast on testing days. Free breakfast is served in the cafeteria at 7:30 a.m. on school days.
Talent Show
If your child is interested in trying out for the talent show, permission slips are due. Auditions will be Friday, May 5th. The talent show will be May 23rd during school time. Direct any questions to Linda Swartout, music teacher Swartout.Linda@brevardschools.org

Bike to School Wednesday
Get ready to strap on your helmet and check those tires for National Bike & Roll to School Day 2023! Whether you bicycle, scooter, or hoverboard to school, we encourage parents and guardians to make it a family event by riding together as part of the nationwide celebration.
